Picture this: Ten adventurous women, filled with anticipation and a hint of skepticism, stepping off the plane in Morocco. They were about to embark on a 12-day journey, curated and led by the co-founders of Travel Trunk Tours. Some were first-time travellers with our company, while others were returning guests eager for another escapade.
As the travellers set foot in Morocco, their expectations were modest. We heard the occasional “I’m told it’s like Charminar!”, but little did they know that by the end of their adventure, they would be completely captivated by the country's diverse landscapes and vibrant culture.
One particularly memorable moment occurred in the streets of Chefchaouen. As the group wandered through the narrow alleys, leaving the Rif mountains behind, they stumbled upon street after street of picturesque blue hues. It was a moment of unexpected beauty that left everyone feeling uplifted. One of the travellers aptly noted that “the narrow market places opened up into something truly magical and exclusive”.
In Marrakech, the travellers found themselves in a bustling market, surrounded by vibrant colours and intoxicating scents. One of the highlights of their time in the city was a hands-on cooking class led by a local chef in a remote Berber village. As they chopped vegetables and stirred fragrant spices, they couldn't help but marvel at the warmth and hospitality of their hosts. Now equipped with the skill of making traditional tagines, they were ready to explore the manicured garden Jardin Majorelle.
But it wasn't all about food and shopping. The group also delved into Morocco's rich history and culture during guided walking tours of Fez and Rabat. In Fez, they stumbled upon a hidden tannery and visited a mosaic tile factory. Of course, no trip to Morocco would be complete without a desert adventure. Our travellers embarked on a camel journey into the Sahara Desert, where they spent a magical night camping beneath the stars. As they sat around the campfire, dancing around, swapping stories and gazing up at the endless expanse of the sky, they felt a sense of peace and contentment unlike anything they had ever experienced before.
Throughout their journey, the group was guided by knowledgeable and passionate local guides who shared their love for Morocco with infectious enthusiasm. From surprise birthday celebrations to welcome notes and scarves, every moment was filled with warmth and laughter. We truly believe that it’s small touches like this and the right guides and drivers who can make or break a trip and we’re confident that Travel Trunk does this the best!
As the group bid farewell to Morocco, they did so with hearts full of memories and a newfound appreciation for this captivating country. It was a journey of discovery, adventure, and friendship that they would treasure for a lifetime. And for Travel Trunk Tours, it was a reminder of the magic that happens when you step outside your comfort zone and embrace the unknown.
Straight from the horses mouth - here’s how our travellers summed up their experiences!
“Travel Trunk’s itinerary for 12 days in Morocco packed a punch. It was a well thought out plan that was immersive in experience and relaxing too. The expertly guided tour seamlessly showcased the best of Morocco leaving us with delightful memories and an in-exhaustible photo gallery!” - Radhika
“Morocco was on my bucket list forever and when TT offered a trip, I just couldn’t pass… My 4th trip with TT and I knew it would be well researched and organised. So I hopped on and what an adventure it was… beautiful and such varied landscapes!! Morocco was everything it promised to be… mystery moors and more. Each city / town / village with a personality and vibe of its own. The experiences planned were spot on… especially the cooking class… a wonderful guide and driver and equally wonderful travel partners. Two weeks felt short. I would have definitely regretted not going!” - Bindu
If Morocco isn't on your bucket list as yet, we'd say - add it!
